Magnetic particle inspection (MPI) is one of the most widely used forms of non-destructive testing. It's common because it's fast, easy, and the part's surface preparation isn't as critical as other forms of NDT. Magnetic particle inspection uses magnetic fields and small magnetic particles (iron filings) to detect surface and sub-surface flaws. Although this method can only be utilized for ferromagnetic materials such as iron, nickel, cobalt, and some of their alloys, it's great for finding defects in castings, forgings, and weldments.
Karden Sales offers a wide variety of magnetic particle materials and equipment. From fluorescent & visible magnetic particles compatible with suspension vehicles like petroleum and water, to accessories and equipment like centrifuges and yokes, we hope Karden Sales has what you're looking for.
