Magnaflux Introduces UL/CSA Compliant Option for their Mag Benches

Magnaflux Magnetic Particle Wet Benches are now available with UL/CSA 61010-1 certification.  This certification has been administered and approved by a 3rd party Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL).

This upgrade is available to all AD-2045, ADH-2045, D-2060, & D-2100 models.

This means that these units will be compliant with the most rigorous North American Electrical & Mechanical Safet Standards.

• USA – Compliance to UL 61010-1
• Canada – Compliance to CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 61010-1

 

Safety

Upgraded units are designed and built with a higher level of electrical and mechanical safety.  This means that electrical components are further insulated and protected.

The UL/CSA units possess a complex Emergency Stop System that is not just a power kill.  When E-stop switches are activated:

1. Any mag current flowing (either a mag shot in progress or fault in the system) – mag current will automatically be stopped by contactor opening and deenergizing the power transformer in the unit.  Note:  there is still power inside the unit to a 115 transformer as 115-volt power is required to “reset/restart” the system.
2. Headstock motion will stop and air in system will be released – In the case of an operator getting the hand pinched – this would allow the operator to free their hand without assistance.
3. E-stop switches are tied into safety relays to provide reliability and redundancy to the E-stop circuitry.

The UL/CSA units have a shorter stroke to avoid pinch points and accidental part damage.
